Was it a dream?

February 1st, 2008 · No Comments

I just attended a presentation course earlier this week and prepared a short speech at the end of the two days class. Come to think of it … it was quite funny as well and I decided to share it with all of you …

Good afternoon, fellow colleagues.

I would like to share with you a very personal experience of mine, an experience that I name it as a leap of faith.

I am sure at some point of time, in our sleep that is; we do have weird dreams like falling off the edge, into the drain or off the cliff – basically somewhere really high up. So high that sometimes you find that you are actually flying and gliding in mid away, cruising away as the gravity pulls you down. However, at the end of it most of us probably wake up with a jerk on our leg.

Now let’s imagine this scenario, you sat on a plane with a fantastic view outside your window, overseeing beautiful lakes, rivers and snow capped mountains. Everything down there seems to be smaller than lego toys. Suddenly the side of your wall is gone, this part kind of mimics the scene from Final destination. And for all you know the wind is blowing at you for at least at 200kmph and you feel like life flashes before your eyes. This may sound a little dramatic but for a person who has Acrophobia throughout her life, a technical term for fear of heights – this may all seems to be a nightmare. Well anyway what happened next was … I really did fall off the plane … I thought I would scream but I was voiceless, I thought I was almost having a stroke but I didn’t … it was all so quiet suddenly. And I realize I was truly at that moment, just me and my self.

And it wasn’t a dream after all … I really did fall of the sky. And I live to tell the tale … let me see … I think they call it … sky diving.

This is a slight twist to the tale … if you’ve read my previous blog before, I did mention about my sky diving experience. Hehe
